COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Some two dozen Midlands educators, administrators and staff participated in an anti-bullying summit so they can take what they learned back to their schools and train other staff before bullying violence reaches the students. The idea is to educate those at the top first, so a zero tolerance for bullying message can be passed down in efforts of preventing students from ever having to deal with harassment by fellow classmates. The ‘Train the Trainers’ program covered anti-bullying from the aspect of the victim, the bully and the bystander. A Midlands teenager who was victimized by a bully, agrees teachers, school counselors, etc., need to know how to address such situations. For more information on anti-bullying training for your school, Dennis Lewis or Judy Brunner at Edu-Safe at edu-safe.org or by calling 417-880-5895.
