4 arrested in connection with Crestmont Road shooting
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott says four people were arrested in connection with a shooting on Crestmont Road Tuesday.
On September 8, 2026, while deputies were on scene for the shooting, witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle.
Deputies were circulating the surrounding area when a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle was seen in the area of Hardscrabble Road and Sloan Road, says RCSD.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle and it fled.
A pursuit ensued and ended in the 100 block of Winterberry Lane where several suspects ran from the vehicle, says RCSD.
The suspect vehicle was left in drive and rolled into a house in the area causing damage.
Deputies then pursued the suspects on foot and a K9 track was started.
Also, deputies located four suspects who were identified as Kylen Barze, Lawrence Scott, Roy Jackson Jr., and Jairus McClary.
Barze who deputies identified as the driver, was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and siren, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, malicious injury to property, and PWID marijuana.
Scott was charged with attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.
Jackson Jr. was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
McClary was charged with attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.
All suspects were taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where they are awaiting a bond hearing.
