Rash Of Dryer Thefts

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP)-Summerville police say more than a dozen clothes dryers have been stolen from apartment complexes in recent weeks. Police say the thefts started last month. Officers say the thieves hit one apartment complex two days in a row, taking four dryers and a washing machine. Five dryers were taken from another complex. The machines are valued between $400 and $1,500 each. Capt. Jon Rogers says investigators think the thieves are after the money in the coin-operated machines. No arrests have been made.
