USC QB Thompson gets engaged

COLUMBIA (WOLO) — South Carolina starting quarterback Dylan Thompson got engaged Saturday night to his girlfriend Melanie Helm. “Had to break twitter for this… WE’RE ENGAGED!!!! Wow. God is so GREAT!!! Love you Mel!!” Thompson tweeted. The fifth-year senior is 3-0 in his career as a starter and has completed 55.0 percent of his passes over the past three seasons for 1,827 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. Thompson and the Gamecocks will kick off the season at Williams-Brice Stadium against Texas A&M on Aug. 28.
