MCBEE, S.C. (WOLO) — McLeod Farms pays tribute to the USC Gamecocks back-to-back College World Series Championships in 2010 and 2011 by creating a special corn field maze to raise funds for area youth sports. After decades of practicing and playing games on fields scattered all over town, volunteers and supporters of the McBee Youth Recreation Department have raised more than $10,000 towards the cost of building adequate playing fields. In an effort to make a new, four-field sports complex a reality, the owner of McLeod Farms donated 10 acres of land and had a special design carved into the acres, including the USC baseball team logo and the words ‘World Champion Gamecocks.’ The piece of art can be seen from 300ft. in the air. Funds are still needed to complete the sports complex. To donate, go to www.mcleodfarmscornmaze.com. The corn maze is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
