Not A Lot of Good Grades as Gov. Haley Releases Report Cards

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) – Just over half of South Carolina’s lawmakers got on the honor roll in Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s report cards. Haley released the report card Monday as she started a series of town hall meetings across the state in Rock Hill. The report cards showed only 20 of 45 senators and 75 of the 123 representatives she graded were on the honor roll. Only one Democrat in the Senate and two in the House got top grades. Haley told the 200 people at a town hall at Winthrop University that the need to hold their lawmakers’ hands to the fire to make sure they help her with her agenda. Haley says the agenda will include business tax cuts and a new job training program. Democrats released their own report card of Haley earlier Monday, saying she gets an F on issues tied to jobs, honesty, government restructuring and open government.
