COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Vowing to “shake things up” after last Saturday’s tough 16-13 loss, Steve Spurrier didn’t waste much time, announcing Connor Shaw will start at quarterback this Saturday against Kentucky. Shaw, a sophomore, struggled in his only meaningful playing time this season, going 3 for 9 for 21 yards and 1 fumble in the first quarter against East Carolina. After being one of the SEC’s best QBs last year, Stephen Garcia is having a disappointing senior season, with 4 TD passes and 9 interceptions through the first 5 games. The 9 interceptions is more than any other QB in the country. USC (4-1) will host Kentucky this weekend. Kickoff is set for 12:21 p.m. on ABC Columbia.
