Drug Bust Nets 400 Pounds of Marijuana

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Spartanburg County deputies have seized nearly 400 pounds of marijuana and arrested two men. Sheriff Chuck Wright said Wednesday his narcotics unit seized 395 pounds of marijuana from two homes in Inman and Boiling Springs, along with a handgun, ammunition and material used to pack illegal drugs. The search followed a month-long investigation. Deputies say 23-year-old Emir Serrano, who lived in the Boiling Springs home, and 21-year-old Alexis Gallego were arrested Tuesday on drug trafficking and weapon charges. They are in the Spartanburg County jail. Bond has been denied. Arrest warrants for Gallego list his address as homeless. It was unclear if they had lawyers. A police report says officers seized five blocks of marijuana in one home and 35 blocks in another.
