Aiken County Police Chief’s Daughter Killed

WAGENER, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities say the police chief in Salley rushed to a car crash outside his jurisdiction after finding out his daughter might be involved. Investigators told The Aiken Standard that 20-year-old Lisa Bledsoe died in the fiery wreck after losing control on a rural road near Wagener around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday and smashing into a tree. Authorities say Bledsoe was driving home from her job at Amick Farms when the wreck happened. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says it took firefighters an hour to put out the blaze and get Bledsoe out of the car. Bledsoe’s father is Salley Police Chief J.D. Bledsoe.
