SC State Museum Opens New Exhibit on Civil Rights

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– This weekend The South Carolina State Museum opened a new Civil Rights exhibit, Courage: The Vision to End Segregation and the Guts to Fight for It. The travelling exhibit tells the “people story” behind the Supreme Court‘s landmark Civil Rights decision, Brown v. Board of Education. The story is told through such items as photographs, reproductions of letters and documents, even artifacts. Guests can have a seat in a Classroom, and view historical photographs and other items in households during that period in time. “Courage” will be open Feb. 28 – July 26 at the State Museum and is included with museum general admission or membership.
