Columbia shows movies in city parks during summer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia parks officials are resuming their “Movies in the Park” series this summer.

Starting this week, officials are screening family-friendly movies in Columbia’s Finlay Park each Friday through July 22.

The series kicks off with “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” and wraps up with “Space Chimps 2.”

Admission is free, as are popcorn and drinks. Movies start at dark and are shown weather permitting.
