LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) — Even though authorities think the safe return of his son is highly unlikely, Gary George from Lexington isn’t letting that stop him from turning to the internet and establishing a foundation to help find other families’ missing loved ones, including his own. 22-year-old Michael George was reported missing Christmas Day. Since then, the case has turned cold with no new leads for Lexington County investigators. To keep his son’s story at the forefront of people’s minds, father, Gary George, has established a website and a foundation to assist Midlands families who are looking for their missing loved ones. Michael’s Place Foundation for the Missing is a new venture Gary George has taken on to assist authorities in their search for his son, as well as help other families searching for their missing loved ones. More information may be found at www.michaelsplace.info. The 1994 black Nissan Sentra belonging to Michael George has been recovered and being investigated. Friends and family members are also handing out fliers and prayer cards to people in the community. A candle light vigil is planned for Saturday, February 25, at 7:00pm at Carpenter Shop Church in West Columbia. For more information, call 803-785-2400.
