Former SC coach, teacher facing 22 abuse counts
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A former coach and teacher has been indicted on 22 felony counts of molesting boys in the Charleston area.
Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson announced the indictments Tuesday against Louis “Skip” ReVille.
Police said earlier that Reville, who worked as a teacher and coach in area schools and churches, was charged with nine abuse counts in Mount Pleasant with more expected.
Wilson said The Citadel will not be charged for not reporting a 2002 incident involving Reville, a counselor at its summer camp, young boys and pornography. She said there’s no legal duty to report suspicions of sexually inappropriate behavior.
Reville is jailed on more than $1 million bond. He is expected to stand trial in June. His attorney has said his client is sorry for the pain he’s caused.
