Winthrop C Nunn out for year with broken foot

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Winthrop center Schaquilla Nunn suffered a broken foot and will miss the season.

Nunn is a 6-foot-3 senior who averaged 13.7 points and 11.1 rebounds last season. Winthrop coach Kevin Cook said Nunn considered returning to action in midseason, but Nunn decided she wanted to seek a medical redshirt for this year and come back for a full season in 2016-17.

Nunn was a preseason all Big South first team selection. She is Winthrop’s all-time rebound and shot-block leader.
