Westwood High School announced its new head football coach Wednesday.
This clash of the Carolinas will feature the return of storied head coach Tom Knotts to Charlotte. Knotts won eight state titles while coaching in Charlotte and has six during his time at Dutch Fork.
The former Gamecock offensive lineman spent the last three seasons as the offensive line and strength coach for Gray Collegiate.

Head Football Coach Bennett Weigle, has just finished his third season coaching the Falcons — the A.C. Flora Falcons — where the team garnered a record of 28-4 during his tenure as defensive coordinator.
The Midlands star has offers from South Carolina, NC State, Penn State and Virginia Tech among others as a sophomore.
He’s served as the Falcons offensive coordinator for the last three seasons, turning A.C. Flora’s offense into one of the most feared in the state.
