NeSmith Earns SEC Weekly Honor

South Carolina junior Matt NeSmith has been named the Golfweek Player of the Week, Golfweek announced Monday.

NeSmith receives the honor after becoming just the second golfer in program history to win medalist honors at the SEC Championship and leading the Gamecocks to a tie for second finish.

USC Hits Road, Takes On Furman Tuesday

South Carolina (25-16) travels to Greenville, S.C. for non-conference action with Furman (18-20) at Fluor Field on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. and the game can be heard on the Gamecock IMG Network including flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game.”

Golf Channel To Feature USC Women’s Coach

South Carolina head women’s golf coach Kalen Anderson will be featured on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Tuesday morning as a part of the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships media day. The show will air from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., live from The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla., the site of the 2015 NCAA Championships. Anderson is one of three women’s golf coaches selected to preview the upcoming NCAA Championships at Tuesday’s event.

Staley Earns SC Hall of Fame Ambassador Award

South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame president Xavier Starkes has announced that the Jacobs Family of Clinton, Coach Dawn Staley and Sonny Dickinson of Columbia, Warren Peper of Charleston and Coach Gregg Nibert of Clinton will be honored for their various contributions to sports in the Palmetto State when the organization hosts its 55th annual banquet and induction ceremony on May 11 at the Columbia Metro Convention Center.
