Gamecocks Get By The Citadel 4-2

A four-run third inning highlighted by a three-run single from Jordan Gore help left 20th ranked South Carolina to a 4-2 victory over The Citadel on Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 23-11 while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 15-16.

Tigers Gear Up For Spring Game

Wednesday afternoon Clemson held its final full pads practice prior to Saturday’s annual Spring Football Game in Memorial Stadium. The contest that will be the 15th and final spring practice session will start at 2:30 p.m. and admission is free. A flag football game involving former Clemson players, known as the Clemson Sons Bowl, will start at noon.

Charleston Southern Beats Clemson 4-3

Nate Blanchard’s sacrifice fly in the 10th inning lifted Charleston Southern to a 4-3 win over Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Buccaneers improved to 13-18, while the Tigers fell to 16-17.

Carolina Clocks Appalachian St. 11-1

South Carolina belted 14 hits on the way to an 11-1 victory over Appalachian State on Tuesday night at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 22-11 on the year while the loss drops the Mountaineers to 10-24. The game was called after seven innings and an hour delay due to severe weather in the Columbia area.

Martin Ready For Second Masters

Former Clemson All-American Ben Martin will make his second career appearance in the Masters on Thursday, but it will be his first as a professional. Martin, a 2009 Clemson graduate who played the 2010 spring as a graduate, qualified for the 2010 Masters after finishing second at the 2009 U.S. Amateur.

Georgia Edges Clemson 3-2

Skyler Weber’s sacrifice fly in the ninth inning gave Georgia the lead for good in its 3-2 victory over Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs improved to 19-15, while the Tigers fell to 16-16. The two teams will conclude the home-and-home season series in Athens on April 21.
