Clowney Right At Home On Tonight Show

Gamecock superstar Jadeveon Clowney joined The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Wednesday. Clowney seemed to enjoy his first late-night TV appearance. When the studio audience gave him loud applause during his introduction Clowney joined in with a yell. Fallon quipped, “Jadeveon played for the South Carolina Gamecocks. When I saw him backstage in his dressing room I thought, ‘That’s one of the biggest Gamecocks I’ve ever seen.”

Carolina Crushes Wofford 15-1

11th ranked South Carolina belted out 11 hits and also reached base with 12 walks and three hit by pitches on the way to a 15-1 win over Wofford on Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 36-13 while the Terriers drop to 25-25 for the year.

Clemson Squeezes Out 1-0 Win Over High Point

Four righthanders combined to toss a four-hit shutout in No. 24 Clemson’s 1-0 win over High Point at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. It was the first meeting between the two schools since 2008, as the Tigers (30-19) improved to 10-0 all-time against the Panthers (25-19). Clemson, who won its fifth game in a row, also reached the 30-win mark for the 40th consecutive season.

Wilson On Staley’s Team USA Roster

University of South Carolina signee A’ja Wilson (Hopkins, S.C./Heathwood Hall) is one of 28 players who will attend the 2014 USA Basketball Women’s Basketball U18 National Team Trials, USA Basketball announced today.
From the trials, a 12-member team will be selected to compete under the leadership of South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley in the USA Basketball-hosted 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship at the USOTC from Aug. 6-10.

USC Hoops To Host Oklahoma St. Dec. 6th

Matchups have been announced for the 2014 SEC/Big 12 Challenge. South Carolina will host Oklahoma State at Colonial Life Arena on Dec. 6, as part of the event. All 10 of the Big 12’s teams and 10 of the SEC’s 14 member institutions will participate in this year’s event.

Clemson Football Honored For APR Score

The Clemson football program was honored Wednesday when the NCAA released its Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers rank among the top 10 percent of all FBS programs nationally in APR score (Academic Progress Rate), the fourth-consecutive year the program has had a top 10 percent ranking.
