Christian Walker went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and the Gamecock offense belted out 12 hits as second ranked South Carolina defeated Princeton 6-1 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Carolina Stadium.

Senior left-hander Michael Roth carried a shutout into the ninth inning with a career-high 10 strikeouts and Kyle Martin and Evan Marzilli each had three hits apiece as second ranked South Carolina edged out Princeton 2-1 on Friday evening in non-conference baseball action at Carolina Stadium. The victory marked head coach Ray Tanner’s 700th win at South Carolina.

Tigers Lose Series Opener To Tar Heels 4-3

Michael Morin struck out Phil Pohl with two outs and the bases loaded in the ninth inning to preserve #6 North Carolina’s 4-3 victory over #19 Clemson in front of 4,441 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday. The Tar Heels, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 11-2 overall and 1-0 in the ACC. The Tigers fell to 6-5 overall and 0-1 in ACC play. It was the Tigers’ fourth one-run loss of the season, and they have lost their five games by a combined seven runs.

Gamecocks One And Done At SEC Tourney

The Gamecock basketball team failed to win as many games as the USC football team this season. Alabama ended Carolina’s season with a 63-57 win in the first round of the SEC Tournament. The Gamecocks finish the year with a 10-21 record, tied for the most losses in a season in school history.

USC Cruises By UNC-Asheville 8-1

Second ranked South Carolina raced out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and freshman right-hander Joel Seddon hurled five scoreless innings in his first career start as the Gamecocks defeated UNC Asheville 8-1 on Wednesday evening in non-conference baseball action. Clemson Crushes Holy Cross, 16-4

Richie Shaffer tied a school record with three doubles and Phil Pohl, Jon McGibbon, and Dominic Attanasio all set career highs for RBIs in #19 Clemson’s 16-4 win over Holy Cross at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday. The Tigers improved to 6-4 on the season, while the Crusaders dropped to 3-5. It was the first meeting between the two since the 1958 College World Series.
