Pankake Has Pancake Day To Remember

Joey Pankake hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and four Gamecock pitchers combined to allow just one run on five hits as second ranked South Carolina defeated Presbyterian 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina is now 7-0 on the year while the loss drops Presbyterian to 0-8 for the season.

Benedict’s Goode SIAC’s Best For 2nd Straight Year

Benedict College junior center Marcus Goode was named the SIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row. The Chapin native led the SIAC in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots during the regular season, averaging 18.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, which currently ranks sixth in Division II, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Gamecocks Sweep Elon

Second ranked South Carolina raced out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings and behind 5.2 scoreless innings from junior right-hander Colby Holmes, the Gamecocks defeated Elon 6-0 on Sunday afternoon to sweep a three-game baseball series.
