Wednesday BMW announced plans to invest over a billion dollars in an effort to expand it’s manufacturing capacity and footprint here in South Carolina.
BMW will invest $1 billion in its sprawling factory near Spartanburg, South Carolina, to start producing electric vehicles and an additional $700 million to build a electric-battery plant nearby.
BMW says it will expand its South Carolina operations with the construction of a $100 million logistics center.
BMW will pay an $18 million fine to settle allegations that it inflated its monthly U.S. sales numbers for five straight years.
