If you’re in search of a job right now South Carolina has plenty of them available.
Friday’s jobs report from the Labor Department showed that last month’s hiring kept the unemployment rate at 3.6%, just above the lowest level in a half-century.
A study ranks South Carolina fourth among states where employers are struggling the most to hire.
The latest jobs report is in, and it did not match economists’ expectations. According to the ADP employment report, 330,000 private sector jobs were added to the economy last month. Economists originally expected to see around 700,000 additional jobs on the private side.
The federal government says employers can legally offer incentives to employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said there is no limit to the size of those incentives.
