In addition to investing in power and roads, the governor asks lawmakers to drop the state income tax to 6 percent, putting almost $200 million back into the pockets of South Carolina taxpayers.
Republican leaders in the South Carolina House appear ready to tackle cutting income taxes in the state before this year’s General Assembly session ends in May.
