SC teenager charged with murder in shooting death

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston County authorities say a teenager is charged with murder in the shooting death of an 18-year-old.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports Sunday that a 17-year-old male from Ravenel is charged with killing Trevor Wiggins late Friday.

Sheriff’s deputies say they were responding to reports of a large party when they learned there had been a shooting.

Witnesses say the suspect pulled a gun on Wiggins after he drove into the neighborhood on a motorcycle. Wiggins tried to run, but he was shot in the upper body.

The suspect turned himself in about 4 a.m. Saturday.
