Man gets 45 years for SC man’s death in robbery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Prosecutors say a 23-year-old man who killed another man when a planned robbery turned into a struggle has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

A jury on Thursday found Kenyatta Bryant guilty of murder in the March 2010 death of 23-year-old Andrew Decker.

Investigators say Bryant got Decker into a car with him by promising to do a drug deal. Bryant planned to rob the victim, but something happened and he ended up shooting Decker as the men fought.

Prosecutors say Decker’s blood was found on Bryant’s hat.

Co-defendant Jonathan Holloway is awaiting trial.
