SC treasurer talks about money to Easley kids
EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis is heading to Easley to talk about financial literacy with elementary school students attending a summer camp.
Loftis has been invited to talk to more than 100 fourth graders Friday afternoon at Pickens County Summer Academy at West End Elementary School in Easley.
The campers are spending two weeks learning about checking accounts, debit cards, taxes and investing, as well as civic lessons like voting.
Loftis says he hopes he can show the children how financial responsibility can allow them to follow their dreams.
