Clemson Self-Reports Track Violations

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich has informed the NCAA of violations in the Tigers’ men’s and women’s track and field program. The school said in a release Monday that last September university officials learned of alleged inappropriate conduct and potential violations and hired an outside party to review the program. Earlier this month, Lawrence Johnson resigned after five years as track and field and cross country director. Johnson’s operations director, Shawn Cobey, was appointed interim coach. The release said Radakovich provided the NCAA with details of the violations, the penalties Clemson self-imposed and the corrective measures that the university has taken. Clemson spokeswoman Libby Kehn said Radakovich and other school representatives would not comment on the violations until the NCAA process is complete.
