Shooting in lobby of Pennsylvania courthouse leaves 1 hurt

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — A shooting has occurred in the lobby of a suburban Philadelphia courthouse, and at least one person is injured. The Daily Local News of West Chester reports that the shooting Tuesday at the West Chester courthouse involved a member of the Chester County sheriff’s office and a man who apparently tried to enter the courthouse. The gunfire was reported shortly before noon as the morning court sessions were winding up. Emergency medical personnel and deputy sheriffs removed a man who appeared to be handcuffed from the front security screening area on a stretcher. Chester County District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan said in a Facebook post that the situation has been “neutralized” and detectives were investigating. He says the court will be closed for the rest of the day.
