Suspect in custody after 6 hour standoff in Kershaw Co.

CAMDEN, SC (WOLO) — The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office says the man who barricaded himself inside an East Camden home is in custody after a six hour standoff. 43-year-old Shane Allen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, domestic violence high and aggravated, and use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Around 2 a.m. Friday morning, Kershaw County Sheriff‘s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Davis Street in east Camden following a call of shots fired. About an hour later deputies were called back to the residence after the victim advised officers that Allen had returned. The victim was able to escape from the house and said Allen was inside and was armed, officials say. Authorities say the KCSO Special Response Team was called out and they secured the residence and surrounding homes. Allen has been previously arrested in Texas and Florida.
