University of South Carolina hosts Brad Paisley concert

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The University of South Carolina’s alumni association is hosting a concert by Brad Paisley as part of its homecoming celebrations.

The Friday evening event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the group’s new alumni center in downtown Columbia.

Concert attendance is limited to certain members of the faculty, staff, students, and alumni as well as some first responders and their families.

Alumni association executive director Jack Claypoole says the group is dedicating some events during homecoming week to the Midlands community in light of the recent rainstorm and historic flooding.

An alumni association tailgate is occurring prior to the football game Saturday against Vanderbilt University. An ecumenical worship service is slated for 4 p.m. Sunday at the alumni center.
