GOP hopefuls gather in Myrtle Beach for S.C. Tea Party convention

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WOLO) — Half a dozen candidates seeking the Republican presidential nomination are in Myrtle Beach this weekend meeting with conservative grassroots leaders and voters.
The South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention began Saturday at the Springmaid Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach.
Candidates scheduled to participate in the three-day event include businessman Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan and South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson are also listed as participating.
