Poor Air Quality

As the temperatures warm up on Tuesday, the air quality will go down. So what’s in the air that makes the air quality poor? DEHC keeps track of the concentration of “ground-level ozone” when referring to air quality. This ozone is chemically exactly the same as the ozone that’s up in the stratosphere. It’s just 3 oxygen atoms together. The ozone that’s way up in the sky is mostly concentrated between 6 and 10 miles above the earth’s surface. Ozone up there is very beneficial to us because it blocks out the most harmful rays from the sun. But “ground-level ozone” is the primary ingredient in smog and breathing that in is not healthy.
