COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to DHEC, every year South Carolinians throw away more than 600 thousand tons of food.
Now Governor Nikki Haley is launching Don’t Waste Food SC Day.

The goal is to reduce food waster by 50 percent by 2030 either by donating excess food or composting it.
Officials say if everyone does their part we will all reduce waste.
