COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–A large solar investment is coming to Orangeburg County.
According to state officials, Eagle solar group announced plans to construct a new 87.9 million dollar solar farm in Orangeburg County.

Officials say the company develops utility-scale solar farms in several U.S. regions, with a specific focus on the Midwest and the Southeast.

Officials say the solar project is projected to come online by late 2020, and will generate the equivalent electricity required to power approximately 15,000 homes.
