Columbia,SC ( WOLO)—  It’s an annual event that started as a way to thank those who put their lives on the line to save us everyday, and one firefighter in a particular killed whole doing so.

Initially, the Tunnel to Towers event started to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.

Lace up your sneakers, or boots, whichever you prefer and get ready for

5K Adult Registration – $30 (price increases to $35 after August 20) Hero $25 (All First Responders and Military) Student – $20 (price increases to $25 after). The event takes place in nearly 70 cities around the country, including Columbia. More information provided here.
