Warm December So Far

December has been much warmer than average so far this year. In fact, it’s averaging 4.5 degrees warmer than average through the first half of the month. This is in keeping with the trend over the last 50 years of temperatures increasing here in December. The chart below shows an increase in average temperature of roughly 2 degrees over that span.
