Dam failure cause temporary road closure at Columbia Metropolitan Airport

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – There are a few road closures due to a dam failure in the retention pond near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

The airport Public Safety has temporarily closed Lexington Avenue between Airport Expressway and Aviation Way. The main access to the airport remains open.

 Columbia Metropolitan Airport says anyone needing to gain access to SC Aeronautics, Celebrate Freedom, the Air Traffic Control Tower or Eagle Aviation, will need to use the main entrance to the airport and go around the loop.
