Governor-elect Alan Wilson talks transition
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Allan Wilson held his first press conference as governor elect Friday morning (November 6) inside Riley’s Auto Body Shop in West Columbia.
Wilson was joined by his transition team, made up in part by his wife Jennifer, and his Lieutenant Governor Mike Reichenbach.
Wilson says he chose the body shop for his first presser to symbolize his plans to repair and reform the aspects of government that are broken or damaged.
He reiterated his agenda of eliminating the state income tax, lowering property taxes, and providing relief at the gas pump.
Wilson also says he aims to create a public website that allows voters to see how government is working and how dollars are being spent in real time.
Also, Wilson says he also chose Riley’s for this morning’s presser because that’s where he held his first job, serving as a car washer at the body shop when he was just 15 years old.
