SC Treasurer’s Office announces Palmetto Payback Initiative

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– You may find some extra money your mailbox this week.

On Monday, May 5, the SC Treasurer’s Office announced the Palmetto Payback Initiative.

Officials say the program is matching unclaimed money to its owners and automatically printing checks without having to file a claim.

Officials say the first wave of these payments, totaling more than $600,000 will be arriving in homes this week.
