New Miss South Carolina’s Teen crowned

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — A new Miss South Carolina’s Teen was crowned Friday night.
According to the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization, Miss Charleston’s Teen Tess Ferm took home the title in front of a packed crowd at the Township Auditorium in Columbia, beating out 25 other young women throughout a week long competition.
Eighteen-year-old Ferm is a graduate of Porter-Gaud High School in Charleston and plans to study psychology at Furman University this Fall.
She documents her community service initiative called “From Fear to Freedom” on her Instagram account — advocating for food allergy awareness and education, while highlighting her struggles with anaphylactic food allergies.
As her talent, she sang “Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie.”
She won a $12,500 college scholarship and will compete in the Miss America Teen competition.
First runner up was Greer High School’s Teen Lilykate Barbare, Columbia’s Teen Logan Gabrielle Wells took home second runner up position, Greenville County’s Teen Madison Harbin landed the third runner up spot, and fourth runner up went to Greenwood’s Teen Cleo Floyd-Johnstone.
Ferm takes the place of Mary Elle Marchant of Lexington, who won the title of Miss South Carolina’s Teen 2024.
The Miss South Carolina competition will be held at Township Auditorium beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.
