SCGOP holds 58th Annual Silver Elephant Gala, Trump speaks to crowd via phone

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The SCGOP held its 58th Annual Silver Elephant Gala Saturday night at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Republican leaders, officials, and activists come together for the longest standing Republican event in South Carolina history.

Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia was this year’s keynote speaker, and Senator Lindsey Graham took a phone call from President Trump while at the podium, using speakerphone to let the president address the crowd.

Governor-hopefuls Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, Attorney General Alan Wilson, and Representative Ralph Norman were in attendance as well.
