COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – For over a decade, Taziki’s has set the bar for Mediterranean flavors in Columbia. Co-Owner Matt Scarimbolo joined The Manmade Gourmet, Tyler Ryan, to share the latest great tastes from the Med, customizable bowls called Kypelos. (The Greek word for Bowls).

Kýpelos Bowl Recipe
A vibrant, Mediterranean-inspired bowl built with your choice of grains, fresh toppings, flavorful sauces, and grilled protein. Perfect for a customizable, balanced meal.
Ingredients
Base (choose one):
- 1 cup cooked rice (white, brown, or basmati)
- 1 cup cooked pasta (such as orzo or penne)
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
Toppings:
- 1 cup roasted vegetables (e.g., zucchini, bell peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes)
- ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1–2 tablespoons spicy harissa
- 2 tablespoons Taziki’s signature sauce* (see note)
Protein (choose one):
- 1 grilled salmon fillet
- ½ cup grilled shrimp
- 1 grilled chicken kebob
- ½ cup grilled lamb slices or lamb kebob
Instructions
- Prepare the Base:
Cook your grain of choice according to package directions. Fluff and place it in a serving bowl. - Add the Toppings:
- Layer the roasted vegetables over the base.
- Sprinkle with feta cheese.
- Drizzle with harissa for a spicy kick.
- Add a generous spoonful of Taziki’s signature sauce.
- Add the Protein:
Place your chosen grilled protein on top of the bowl. - Serve:
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired (parsley or mint work well). Serve warm and enjoy!
