Two teens arrested after carjacking in Bishopville
BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (WOLO)– Bishopville Police say two teenagers have been arrested following a carjacking and a chase Thursday.
Officers say around 12:49 p.m, two armed 17-year-old boys stole a female’s vehicle at gunpoint at the Food Lion on South Main Street.
Lee County deputies spotted the stolen vehicle on I20, and the suspects led a chase that went through Kershaw, Lee and, Sumter counties.
Both suspects abandoned the vehicle near Thomas Sumter Academy in Sumter and fled on foot but were later caught.
They were both taken to the Sumter County Detention Center on carjacking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime charges.
