SC Superintendent Ellen Weaver visit Midlands’ schools to recognize students’ achievements for 2025 SC Ready

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– State Superintendent Ellen Weaver visited Midlands schools Tuesday.

ABC Columbia caught up with the superintendent Aug. 11 at Carolina Springs Elementary.

The visits were in recognition of South Carolina students’ history achievements in last year’s SC Ready assessments.

The yearly tests are used to monitor academic progress for students in the 3rd through 8th grades.

Weaver says South Carolina is moving in the right direction.

SC Ready testing began in the 2015 school year.
