Newberry deputies take armed barricaded suspect into custody

NEWBERRY CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Newberry deputies says they’ve taken an armed barricaded suspect into custody overnight.

According to investigators, the suspect involved in a hit and run earlier, went inside a residence armed on Dreher Island Road around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies say they took the suspect into custody after deploying chemical munitions and law enforcement K9 officers.

Authorities say no major injuries were reported.
