Columbia PD’s Traffic Safety Unit continuing to investigate fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia PD’s Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred September 22, say officers.

The fatal collision happened in the 7600 block of Garners Ferry Road.
The preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound when it hit a pedestrian who was unlawfully in the roadway and not within a crosswalk at the time of the collision, police say.
The pedestrian died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing.
