Rep. Joe Wilson visiting Aiken Republican club
AIKEN, S.C. (AP) — U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson is visiting Aiken to speak to the city’s Republican Club.
The Aiken Standard reports that the South Carolina Republican is speaking at the club’s June luncheon on Wednesday.
Club president Tony Coffaro says Wilson is planning to speak about the current agenda in Congress, spending and the debt ceiling.
The club has recently hosted potential GOP presidential hopefuls Herman Cain, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Officials say the club is working on finalizing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Gov. Nikki Haley as upcoming speakers.
