Epley named Gamecocks women’s tennis coach
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Former William and Mary coach Kevin Epley was named the new women’s tennis coach at South Carolina.
Epley will take over a team that saw its longtime leader, Arlo Elkins, step away because of fading health last February. Assistant coach Katarina Petrovic took over day-to-day coaching duties. Elkins died this past April.
South Carolina athletic director Eric Hyman said Epley’s knowledge, energy and skill are a perfect fit for the team. Epley coached at William and Mary from 2003-2008, winning four Colonial Athletic Conference championships and making five NCAA tournament appearances. He has spent the past four years as a full-time traveling coach for pro player Megan Moulton-Levy and her doubles partner, Lindsay Lee-Waters.
Epley also served as head coach at Fresno State.
