Two Men Arrested in Connection with Bank Robbery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff Leon announced the arrest of two men wanted in connection to an armed robbery.

Authorities say that just before 5 p.m. on Dec. 1. 21 year-old Terrance Bouknight entered the SC Federal Credit Union at 10311 Garners Ferry Road posing as a customer while 21-year-old Clarence Nesmith was there to serve as the lookout.

Bouknight is charged with two counts of armed robbery, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, pointing and presenting and Newsmith charged with robbery.

Lott said Bouknight pointed a handgun at the victims and placed a bag on the counter demanding money.

The Sheriff stated that Bouknight and Nesmith fled area with the cash in a Dodge Avenger with SC Tag 720-8GW.

Investigators were able to identify Bouknight and Nesmith through descriptions and information provided from the robbery.

Bouknight was taken into custody on December 4 and Nesmith was arrested on December 2 by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force and the United States Marshal Service.  

Both men were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
