SC woman accused of taking money from soccer club
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina church employee is accused of stealing money from her local youth soccer club.
West Columbia Police said in a release Friday that Kimberly Stripling was arrested Thursday and charged with breach of trust. The release says the 41-year-old resident of North was treasurer of the West Metro Soccer Club and employee of Grace Baptist Church.
The arrest warrant accuses Stripling of using the club’s checkbook and debit card for personal use.
West Columbia investigators accuse Stripling of using between $23,000 and $28,000 of the club’s money over a year.
It was unclear if Stripling has a lawyer. She has an unpublished phone number. A message left at Grace Baptist Church was not immediately returned.
